Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship Level 2
A 12-month apprenticeship featuring Hospitality knowledge and skills training including level 1 Maths and English for those aiming to work as part of a hospitality team. The apprentice is assigned a designated trainer who will deliver an interactive face to face training and assessment programme which features communication, teamwork, operational skills, customer service and problem solving. They will also visit the apprentice, and their line manager, in the work place, to monitor progress and supervise training goals. The trainer will be available to coach, mentor, and provide advice. The apprentice will also have access to a library of online learning materials to support their progress.
The apprentice receives an independent End Point Assessment to confirm their skills and capabilities. Progression is possible onto a Hospitality Team Leader at level 3.

A Hospitality Team Member can work in a range of hospitality roles across a number of environments – these include bars, restaurants, hotels, cafés, conference and events centres, banqueting and party venues, arenas, contract catering and managed Facilities.
The job role is very varied and enables an apprentice to specialise in a particular department, they can also work across the business during busy periods. They need to be ready to be flexible and versatile as they may need to support colleagues in other departments or areas of the business.
Specialist areas in hospitality include food and beverage service, serving alcoholic beverages, barista, preparing and cooking food, housekeeping, concierge and guest relations, reception, hall porter, reservations and conference and events. A key part of the role is communicating and developing excellent customer facing ‘hospitality’ skills and knowledge. It is about recognising when a guest needs something and being able to advise them on their best option, as well as knowing their products and services and understanding what it takes to work as part of a team. A vital part of the role is to work hard to make the guest feel welcome and ensure they have everything they need to make their visit a memorable one.

Duration
The minimum duration for this apprenticeship is 12 months.
Progression
On completion of this apprenticeship, it is possible to progress onto a hospitality supervisory or team leader apprenticeship at level 3
Level
This apprenticeship is level 2.
Functional Skills
To complete the apprenticeship the apprentice must pass level 1 English and Maths (or have the appropriate exemption certificate) and work towards and attempt level 2 before undertaking their End Point Assessment.
End Point Assessment
To achieve this apprenticeship, the employer, training provider and apprentice will agree when the apprentice is competent and ready to undertake an independent end point assessment.
Professional Trainers and Mentors
During their training, each apprentice will be assigned a designated Trainer by Skills Republic. The trainer will visit the apprentice and their line manager between two and four times each month at their workplace. To complement these visits, the trainer will be in contact with the apprentice to coach, mentor, advise, monitor progress and supervise training goals.
